This article emphasizes the importance of decolonizing the EFL curriculum in Germany and to make space for a "balance of stories" as formulated by Chinua Achebe. The inclusion of literary texts by indigenous writers is extremely relevant for such a decolonial teaching approach as demonstrated in this article.
